[on her role in Harry Potter] I have a nervous breakdown in the film and in one scene I get to stand at the top of the stairs waving an empty sherry bottle which is, of course, a typical scene from my daily life, so isn’t much of a stretch.

I prayed for my son Bran to survive his fall. Many years before that, one of the boys came down with the pox. Maester Luwin said if he made it through the night, he’d live, but it would be a very long night. So I sat with him all through the darkness, listening to his ragged little breaths, his coughing and his whimpering.

This might be among my top five scenes of the series thus far. I hope they give her more moments like this.

• Blew my mind. Truly. It's executed so, so well. My jaw was on the floor for the last 30 minutes of playing. It made me think about some major issues. Birth, life, faith, change, death, time, reality, and most importantly, choice. I am dealing with that last thing a lot lately. Especially looking at the past, and thinking of a specific moment in time where I went one way, and there were a dozen other paths as well. It's something else. I cannot recommend it enough. It really did feel like a novel or film you had a say in. It's amazing really.
• Also, I loved that it is it's own story, but if you are a fan of the series, there are nods and moments that give hints to them.

I don’t need an excuse to post Damien Rice, but, he feels appropriate today.
